Software for the evaluation and creation of research data is nowadays being developed in almost all research areas. However systematic training is rarely part of the curriculum or of further education in non-computer science subjects. Without sustainable, high-quality research software, the evaluation and analysis of research data are limited in many areas, and the traceability and reproducibility of research results are at risk.
The HeFDI Code School addresses this gap by offering training formats that promote sustainable, high-quality research software for doctoral researchers and postdocs from all disciplines. Demand for the various formats of the HeFDI Code School is continuously increasing.
The HeFDI Code School is organized by the federal state initiative HeFDI, in strong cooperation with selected experts from HKHLR, hessian.AI, Suresoft and NFDI4ING as well as NFDI4Earth.
In several tracks, all researchers can choose content that matches their individual skill level. The Basic Tracks introduce the fundamentals of programming (currently offered in Python only), while the Advanced Tracks are designed for researchers who already have coding experience and want to learn how to make their code more sustainable. The Expert Tracks target experienced programmers who wish to deepen their knowledge in specific coding topics, such as deep learning or AI.
On the following pages, you will find information about past workshops as well as details on which tracks are planned for the future. Registration for the individual tracks is available on this page or on the respective track detail pages. All workshops will be held in English.
